President's Report

Our Board Members are very excited about all of the learning opportunities and events in progress for 2013 and 2014!  We have some great speakers scheduled to educate us on various topics.  We’ll kick off the February Chapter Meeting with some good food and a speaker from Western Wealth Management who will speak with us 401K and fiduciary responsibilities. Then in March, Carole Ross from Shepperd Mullen, LLP will be speaking to us about Employee Handbooks. Followed by other great speakers will be presenting topics such as “Conflict Management, How to use Google for Job Searching Techniques, the CA DLSE Labor Commissioner, Multi-State Taxation, and Background Checks as well other great speakers to come. Please refer to the chapter website for updated information.

Once again Alicia Orozco, CPP, Membership Director and CPP Study Group Coordinator with the assistance of Sonya Mendoza, Treasurer, Bonnie Tiefenbach, CPP, Pat Lerma, VP & Secretary and myself will be offering this popular and successful CPP Study Group and Boot Camp this year. The 2011 & 2012 success rate for passing the CPP exam was 66%!

Have you thought about volunteering for the Chapter? We can always use some help with various activities. The success of our Chapter depends on the people that help organize educational, charitable and social events.   How about volunteering for the 2014 Election Committee or serving on the Board of Directors? The Program Director and the Treasurer Offices are up for election in 2014.  Serving on a committee or the Board of Directors is a great opportunity to expand your professional skills and receive recognition from your company and our Chapter.

Terri Fuller, Special Events Coordinator/Committee Member, will be working on social and charitable events for 2013.  She did an awesome and creative job organizing our 2012 Christmas dinner!  Also, we will be looking forward to take some great pictures to celebrate National Payroll Week

Finally, as a reminder, please remember to logon to our Chapter website to update your personal information; review the chapter meetings and events as they become available.

Questions or comments?  Email the chapter website, [email protected] through the “Contact Us” function on the website and one of the Board Members will respond.

Thank you for being part of such a great chapter!
